Installing a Printer
Your staff ID card also serves as your printer card. In order to scan, copy or fax from the multi-function printers on campus, you will need to tap your RFID card on the card reader attached to each printer, or login using your Olds College credentials
Ensure your computer is connected to either the Olds College Domain wired network, Olds College Domain WiFi, or the Olds College Secure WiFi
Open the apps V: drive from Windows file explorer (the folder icon in the task bar, or press Windows + E on your keyboard)
Double click the Printers Installer option
Find your printer in the list and double-click it to install.
Setting Default Printer
Click the windows logo in the task bar to open the Start Menu (by default located in the bottom left corner of your screen)
Click the settings button (gear icon)
Select Devices then Printers & Scanners on the left side
Select the printer you wish to set as your default and click Manage
Choose Set as default
Secure Printing
For printing confidential and sensitive files, or to queue up a set of prints to be released at a location and time of your choice (held up to 24 hours in the queue) install the follow_me_print using the instructions above.
To use the secure printing:
- Choose "Follow Me Print" printer from the printers list
- Go to the desired printer (any printer on campus)
- Place Staff ID card on the RFID card reader
- Document will automatically release.
Note: If you do not have a staff RFID you can request one through the Staff ID form located on the service desk page of the TLCI section, or login to the printer using your Olds College network credentials.
