TECHNOLOGY

Olds College E-mail: As an enrolled apprentice, you will now have access to your @oldscollege.ca e-mail address. It's important that you take the time to log into your e-mail. For instructions on how to access your Olds College e-mail address for the first time please view instructions here.
MyOldsCollege Account: Access your account to update your personal information, view account charges, and check your schedule one week before your program starts.
Moodle: You will use Moodle to access all information for your courses, including timelines, assignments and grades.
OC Alert App: please make sure you have downloaded this to your smartphone. It is the official safety app of Olds College. The app features emergency contacts, crisis alerts, in-app tip reporting, location services features, and more.

OLDS COLLEGE ORIENTATIONS

Programs will have their program specific orientation during their first scheduled class and details will be sent by e-mail approximately one month before your training starts. Another reminder will be sent a week prior to your first day of classes.

ALBERTA APPRENTICESHIP & INDUSTRY TRAINING (AIT) ORIENTATION

EQUIPMENT LIST, REQUIRED DEVICE, & OTHER ITEMS

Please check your Admitted Student Section found at the very bottom of your program page for a list of equipment and materials.
Please ensure you note the preferred device. There are computer labs on campus and some devices may be available for loan from The Teaching & Learning Centre of Innovation.
Information on required ILMs and any further supplies will be provided as you attend each class. ILMs are available from the Campus Store (Learning Resource Centre Building 15 at the bottom of the stairs).

CLASS SCHEDULE

Please plan on attending classes between 8 AM and 5 PM. Your schedule will be posted in your MyOldsCollege account one week before your program starts.

TUITION & FEE PAYMENTS

Fee payment methods are available at this link. Your fees are due the first day of classes.
- There are many Payment Options available to ensure your fees are paid by the deadline (you don't want to incur a $200 late payment fee).

Registered Alberta apprentices and occupational trainees may be eligible for financial assistance when attending the technical training portion of their program through Provincial and Federal loans and grants.

EMPLOYMENT INSURANCE & APPRENTICES: Your EI Code is available on the class registration letter in your MyTradesecrets account. To access your account, please click here to login.
If you require a Verification of Enrolment for funding (e.g., RESPs, external awards, etc.), then please request this through “Forms”.

APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS!

SCHOLARSHIPS: The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Board provides more than 900 scholarships to apprentices and occupational trainees every year.
Olds College Awards Program: Apprentices are eligible to apply! For assistance with your application, please contact our Student Awards Advisor (awards@oldscollege.ca).

SUPPORTS FOR YOUR SUCCESS

Health & Wellness: our Health & Wellness team is here to help! Contact them if you need Health Services (e.g., Doctor, Nurse, Counsellors), Wellness Services (e.g., massage, indigenous services), or access to additional health and wellness resources.
Learning Supports: our Technology & Learning Centre of Innovation team offers a number of services to assist you with your program. Make sure to reach out to them if you need assistance with library services, technology support, or learning support (e.g., tutors, organisation skills, exam strategies, note taking).
- SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES: If you require assistance and have not already contacted our Accessibility Services Specialists, please ensure you do so as soon as possible.

CAMPUS HOUSING

There are a number of options available on campus. Meal plans are also an excellent option (and required for students in Centennial Village).

ID CARD

Please ensure you have submitted your photo for your Olds College ID card. If you already have an ID card, then you do not need to request a new one.

PARKING

If you would like to park your vehicle on campus, you are required to have a parking permit.

STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION OF OLDS COLLEGE (SAOC)

Visit their website to view off-campus housing, used textbooks, learn about clubs, and more!
Student Health & Dental Plan: If you would like to opt-in to the Students’ Association of Olds College Health & Dental plan, then you can complete a request through their website. For more information, including rates and coverage, please contact them directly (oldsplan@mystudentplan.ca) or visit their website.
